  SECURITY BANK ALERT
The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) does not email customers. If you receive such an email disregard it and notify your account officer.

Due to an increase in ATM fraud Interaudi Bank advises ATM/Debit card holders to use bank ATM machines to withdraw cash and avoid non-bank ATM machines most commonly located in stores and shopping malls.

Safe Online Banking Practices

At Interaudi Bank, we take security very seriously. As such, we have implemented a variety of methods to protect your online accounts. However, with the current worldwide epidemic of identity theft, we advise all of our clients to utilize the following safe online banking practices:
  • Don’t give your passwords (or security question answers) to anyone and don’t record them in an easy-to-find location.

  • Change your passwords frequently and avoid using passwords that others may be able to guess (i.e. Social Security Number, date of birth, your child’s name).

  • Don’t allow your browser, or computer software, to store passwords for online banking, or your email account. Many identity thieves use your email account as a gateway to your personal information and your financial institutions. It is also a good idea to periodically clear out your browser’s Internet history.

  • Be sure to log out of your online banking session when you are done accessing your account, or if you need to leave your computer unattended. It is also a good practice to log out of your email account when not in use.

  • Log off or lock your workstation whenever you leave your computer. Setting up a password-protected screen saver is a very good practice. Take advantage of your computer’s security features.

  • Whenever possible, avoid accessing your online account from high-risk computers that permit anonymous access to anyone (i.e. Internet cafés, copy centers, libraries, unsecured wireless networks).
Important Tip: If you are on travel and must access your account, try to use a computer at your hotel instead of an Internet café.

  • Try to prevent unauthorized people from using your personal computer at home and at work.

  • If you notice suspicious account activity, report it immediately to your account representative.

  • Don’t open emails from people that you don’t know and don’t respond to “phishing” emails that request personal and/or financial information.

  • If you are unsure whether or not contact supposedly from your institution is genuine, establish contact with that institution directly using low-risk methods (i.e. known good email addresses and phone numbers for that institution).

  • Install anti-virus, anti-spyware, and other Internet security software on your PC, but only install software from reputable vendors. It is often the free “prevention” software that is actually intended to cause malicious activity on your computer.
Important Tip: It is better to install nothing than to download software online from an unknown vendor. Going to a software store is a safe practice if you are unsure of what you need.
